Ground anchors are structural elements used to provide additional stability to retaining walls by transferring load from the wall into the surrounding ground.

ESS (CE) Limited can provide ground anchors to complement sheet piled or king post retaining walls when retained heights or excessive loading require additional support. Ground anchors can be installed by various methods, with the three main ones being:

• Drilled and grouted using a drilling rig or an excavator-mounted feed beam.

• Pneumatic mechanical anchors installed using a hydraulic breaker attachment.

• Horizontal tie bars used when two points require anchoring to each other to create an anchor wall arrangement.
